The COMPLETE Guide to the Most Commonly Tested Topics on the CFE
CPA Canada's CFE exam tests hundreds of different topics, so it can be difficult to know where to focus your energy, given you likely have limited time and can't be an expert in EVERYTHING on the CPA Competency Map.
This complete guide shows you exactly if, when, and how often each topic has been tested on all past CFEs in an easy-to-digest format, where trends become quickly apparent.Â
YES, SEND IT MY WAY!The “Must Have” Guide to Prioritize which Topics are Need-to-Know, Nice-to-Know, and which are rarely tested.
This valuable resource will help you avoid wasting time on topics that just won't move the needle on your CFE results.
Here's what you'll learn when you download this guide (the best, part, it’s FREE!):

HOW to get started
Just start working through the list of topics, and spend more time where there is more testing. We start with FR, rev rec. Work through the list from there, ticking as you go! Who can resist a good checklist?

WHAT to focus on for EACH competency
All 6 Competencies are included, so you can plan your study time across each competency and topic based on likelihood of testing. A summary at the start of each competency section summarizes the 5-10 must know topics for that competency.

WHERE to find examples of specific topics
As we get closer to the CFE, use this guide to review which topics are testable on the CFE. If you are drawing a blank on a particular topic, use the guide to pull up a specific case that tests that topic, so you can see how the topic is tested in a case based scenario.

ACCESS to even more case examples
The guide includes links to the 2012, 2013, 2014 UFEs, so you can see even more examples of case based testing without burning a CFE case.
GET THIS GUIDE!! This was my number one free resource when studying for the CFE. I was completely overwhelmed by the competency map before, so much stuff to know. But this guide lays everything out in a super simple way, making it easy to follow and prioritize certain topics over others. I also used it as a way to spot check my knowledge leading up to the CFE. I didn't have time to write all past CFE cases, but with the help of this guide, I was able to pull certain cases up that tested topics I had not seen before to ensure I got good coverage. Thank you Jenn!!!

A Note from Jenn...
I created this guide to help candidates get a quick snapshot of what exactly is testable on the CFE. The CFE Competency map is HUGE (156 pages to be exact) and it is truly hard to understand. A classic case of information overload. This guide is set up as a simple checklist to work through, checking topics off as you go, with the added bonus of clearly showing if, when, and how many times each topic has been tested in the past.
I'm passionate about helping candidates along this last leg of their CFE journey, and in my experience,  candidates do not need MORE study material, instead, you need a way to determine which study material is most important since there is so much to get through and you likely have limited time. This resource is key to strategically prioritizing which material to focus your efforts on.
ALL my best - Jenn
